Gastro tour Taste Dalmatia and Orient



Only couple of kilometres from Dalmatia lies Bosnia and Herzegovina, country that was under Otoman empire for centuries. Beacuse of that Bosnia and Herzegovina has always been great mixture of western and eastern civilisation.

GIORNO 1 - Day one

Welcome service, transfer from the airport to villa or hotel in Split city centre. Upon arrival and short break in hotel, welcome dinner is organised where you will receive all necessary information about your tour and program, and during dinner you will also receive your gift basket, complements of Taste Dalmatia program.

GIORNO 2 - Day two

After breakfast you meet your chef who will guide and teach you through your culinary tour in Dalmatia. Before your cooking lessons you will visit the local market, traditional place filled with Mediterranean scents and local character.
For the first lesson you will learn everything about basic ingredients, spices and Dalmatian cuisine. Everyone who is attending cooking lessons will receive a complimentary set of Dalmatian spices. After lunch, sightseeing tour of Split will be organised, Diocletian palace, more than 1700 years old monument, Cathedral, Jupiter’s Temple are only several places that you will visit during the tour. At the dinner you will be served with Dalmatian wines and explained their best combination with certain food.

GIORNO 3 - Day three

Morning starts with breakfast, after which you will go to organised excursion to nearby cities of
Salona and Trogir. Salona was former capital of Roman province of Dalmatia. Theatre, amphitheatre, and forum with temples are the most famous locations found on the archaeological site. After Salona you will proceed to Trogir, a town called museum in the open, protected by UNESCO, rich in architecture spanning from Greek and Roman times to middle Ages. In Trogir you will also visit very famous fish market, filled with local fresh fish. Lunch will be organised in one of the restaurants, followed with return transfer to Split.

GIORNO 4 - Day four

Day starts with breakfast after which you will go to a whole day excursion to the Krka National park and city of Skradin. National park Krka is famous by many breathtaking waterfalls and preserved nature. Skradin, which because of its unique location has been the central town of the entire area for almost 6000 years, is also very famous by the olive oil, and there you will visit one of the factories that produce olive oil. After that, you will go to the city of Sibenik, which is only 25 km from the National park. Šibenik excels among all Croatian towns at the Adriatic coast by its unique location in a picturesque and large bay, at the mouth of the Krka. Created initially as a castrum, a fortification or a campus, beneath the St. Michael’s Fortress that still dominates the town, Šibenik was mentioned for the first time in 1606, in a document issued by the most important of Croatian rulers - the king, Petar Krešimir IV. Šibenik obtained its status of a town in 1298, when the Diocese of Šibenik was established. Lunch will be organised in restaurant in Sibenik followed by a short sightseeing and return to Split.

GIORNO 5 - Day five

Day starts with breakfast, after which you will proceed further to Bosnia and Herzegovina, city of Mostar. The city of Mostar is situated in a beautiful valley bedded between high mountains of Herzegovina. It is thanks to the river Neretva that Mostar was able to develop as a city in the desert-like landscape of Herzegovina. Neretva’s size turned Mostar very early in to a trading centre of the region. What makes this city known is it’s famous bridge. The Old Bridge was built by the Ottoman Empire in 1565. It was the great architect Mimar Hajrudin who had succeded with the impossible mission to cross the Neretva River with a single span stone bridge. Your accommodation will be organised in hotel called Old town, where your hosts will meet you and culinary lessons will begin with preparing lunch. Along with top class chef, you will learn everything about traditional domestic cuisine after which lunch will be served. After the lunch, sightseeing of the city will be organised. You will visit old Mostar Bridge, and old part of the town. Dinner will be served in hotel.

GIORNO 6 - Day six

Day starts with breakfast after which you continue with your trip further to the city of Dubrovnik, called jewel of Adriatic, perfectly preserved medieval fortified town with the longest city walls in Europe. On the way to Dubrovnik you will make a stop in the city of Ston, famous for its oysters and salt which are the most famous products of this area. Local specialty dishes with oysters will be served for lunch. After lunch you will proceed to Dubrovnik, where sightseeing will be organised, followed by dinner in local restaurant.

GIORNO 7 - Day seven

Early breakfast and transfer to the airport.
