Passport

for entry into French Polynesia must be in possession of a passport with validity of at least 6 months from the date of return, but, since in most cases, the entry in French Polynesia is passing by the United States, there are some additional rules that define valid identity documents. For entry to the United States, Italian citizens require a passport issued as follows: • machine-readable passport with validity of at least 6 months from the date of return to transit in the United States until expiry of the same without requiring a visa, only if the same was issued or renewed before October 26, 2005. • machine-readable passport with a digitized photograph, with validity of at least 6 months from the date of return to transit in the United States until expiry of the same without requiring a visa, only if the same was issued after October 26, 2005 and no later than October 26, 2006. • Passport with electronic chip, with validity of at least 6 months allowing transit in the United States until expiry of the same without requiring a visa, only if the same was issued after October 26, 2006.

Health

The health situation is generally good in the main islands. The emergency repatriation can be effected through private companies (Pacific Help) at very high prices. The admissions are not underwritten by the Italian bodies, as well as medical visits and medications. It is recommended, therefore, to conclude, before embarking on the journey, a health insurance that includes, in addition to the coverage of medical expenses, even the eventual repatriation medical air or transfer in another country. Warnings We recommend that you: • prior medical opinion, vaccination against hepatitis A and B; • drink only bottled water and bottled drinks, without adding ice in drinks.

Climate

Dry season from May to October; humid season from November to April. Mild temperatures all year round.

Viability

Driving Licence: International (Geneva Convention 1949 model or Vienna 1968).
